第24章

1 巴蘭見耶和華喜歡賜福與以色列，就不像前兩次去求法術，卻面向曠野。

2 巴蘭舉目，看見以色列［Israel］照著支派在帳棚［tents］居住；神的靈就臨到他身上。

3 他便提起他的比喻［took up his parable］說：比珥的兒子巴蘭說，眼目睜開［open］的人說，

4 得聽神的言語，得見全能者的異象，眼目睜開而魂遊象外［falling into a trance］的人說：

5 雅各啊，你的帳棚何等華美。以色列啊，你的帳幕何其華麗。

6 如接連的山谷，如河旁的園子，如耶和華所栽的蘆薈［aloes］樹，如水邊的香柏木。

7 他必把水從桶裏倒出［He shall pour the water out of his buckets］；種子要撒在多水之處。他的王必超過亞甲；他的國必要振興。

8 神領他出埃及；他似乎有獨角獸［unicorn］之力。他要吞吃敵國，折斷他們的骨頭，用箭射透他們。

9 他蹲如獅子［lion］，臥如大獅［great lion］，誰敢惹他？凡給你祝福的，願他蒙福；凡咒詛你的，願他受咒詛。

10 巴勒向巴蘭生氣，就拍起手來，對巴蘭說：「我召你來為我咒詛仇敵，不料，你這三次竟為他們祝福。

11 如今你快逃到［flee］本地去吧。我想使你得大尊榮，不料［lo］，耶和華卻阻止你不得尊榮。」

12 巴蘭對巴勒說：「我豈不是對你所差遣到我那裏的使者說：

13 『巴勒就是將他滿屋的金銀給我，我也不得越過耶和華的命，憑自己的心意行好行歹。耶和華說甚麼，我就要說甚麼？』」

14 「看哪［behold］，現在我要回本族去。你來，我告訴你這民日後要怎樣待你的民。」

15 他就提起他的比喻［took up his parable］說：比珥的兒子巴蘭說：眼目睜開［open］的人說，

16 得聽神的言語，明白至高者的意旨，看見全能者的異象，眼目睜開而魂遊象外［falling into a trance］的人說：

17 我看他卻不在現時；我望他卻不在近日。有星要出於雅各，有王權［Sceptre］要興於以色列，必打破摩押的四角，毀壞塞特［Sheth］之子。

18 以東必被得為［Edom shall be a］基業，西珥也必為他仇敵所得［Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies］；以色列必行事勇敢。

19 有一個出於雅各的，必掌大權；他要除滅城中的餘民。

20 巴蘭觀看亞瑪力，就提起他的比喻［took up his parable］說：亞瑪力原為諸國之首，但他終必永遠滅亡［perish for ever］。

21 巴蘭觀看基尼人，就提起他的比喻［took up his parable］說：你的住處本是堅固；你的窩巢作在岩穴中。

22 然而基尼必至衰微，直到亞述把你擄去。

23 巴蘭又提起他的比喻［took up his parable］說：哀哉。神行這事，誰能得活。

24 必有人乘船從基提界而來，苦害亞述，苦害希伯；他也必至永遠滅亡［perish for ever］。

25 於是巴蘭起來，回他本地去；巴勒也回去了。

Chapter 24

1 And when Balaam1109 saw7200 that it pleased2895 the LORD3068 to bless1288 Israel,3478 he went1980 not, as at other times,6471 to seek7125 for enchantments,5172 but he set7896 his face6440 toward413 the wilderness.4057

2 And Balaam1109 lifted5375 up his eyes,5869 and he saw7200 Israel3478 abiding7931 in his tents according to their tribes;7626 and the spirit7307 of God430 came1961 on him.

3 And he took5375 up his parable,4912 and said,559 Balaam1109 the son1121 of Beor1160 has said,5002 and the man1397 whose eyes5869 are open8365 has said:5002

4 He has said,5002 which834 heard8085 the words561 of God,410 which saw2372 the vision4236 of the Almighty,7706 falling5307 into a trance, but having his eyes5869 open:1540

5 How4100 goodly2896 are your tents,168 O Jacob,3290 and your tabernacles,4908 O Israel!3478

6 As the valleys5158 are they spread5186 forth, as gardens1593 by the river's5104 side, as the trees of lign aloes174 which the LORD3068 has planted,5193 and as cedar730 trees beside5921 the waters.4325

7 He shall pour5140 the water4325 out of his buckets,1805 and his seed2233 shall be in many7227 waters,4325 and his king4428 shall be higher7311 than Agag,90 and his kingdom4438 shall be exalted.5375

8 God410 brought3318 him forth4161 out of Egypt;4714 he has as it were the strength8443 of an unicorn:7214 he shall eat398 up the nations1471 his enemies,6862 and shall break1633 their bones,6106 and pierce4272 them through with his arrows.2671

9 He couched,3766 he lay7901 down7901 as a lion,738 and as a great3833 lion:3833 who4310 shall stir6965 him up? Blessed1288 is he that blesses1288 you, and cursed779 is he that curses779 you.

10 And Balak's1111 anger639 was kindled2734 against413 Balaam,1109 and he smote5606 his hands3709 together: and Balak1111 said559 to Balaam,1109 I called7121 you to curse6895 my enemies,341 and, behold,2009 you have altogether blessed1288 them these2088 three7969 times.

11 Therefore now6258 flee1272 you to your place:4725 I thought559 to promote3513 you to great honor;3513 but, see,2009 the LORD3068 has kept4513 you back4513 from honor.3519

12 And Balaam1109 said559 to Balak,1111 Spoke1696 I not also1571 to your messengers4397 which834 you sent7971 to me, saying,559

13 If518 Balak1111 would give5414 me his house1004 full4393 of silver3701 and gold,2091 I cannot3808 3201 go5674 beyond5674 the commandment6310 of the LORD,3068 to do6213 either good2896 or176 bad7451 of my own mind;3820 but what834 the LORD3068 said,1696 that will I speak?1696

14 And now,6258 behold,2005 I go1980 to my people:5971 come3212 therefore, and I will advertise3289 you what834 this2088 people5971 shall do6213 to your people5971 in the latter319 days.3117

15 And he took5375 up his parable,4912 and said,559 Balaam1109 the son1121 of Beor1160 has said,5002 and the man1397 whose eyes5869 are open8365 has said:5002

16 He has said,5002 which heard8085 the words561 of God,410 and knew3045 the knowledge1847 of the most6944 High,5945 which saw2372 the vision4236 of the Almighty,7706 falling5307 into a trance, but having his eyes5869 open:1540

17 I shall see7200 him, but not now:6258 I shall behold7789 him, but not near:7126 there shall come1869 a Star3556 out of Jacob,3290 and a Scepter7626 shall rise6965 out of Israel,3478 and shall smite4272 the corners6285 of Moab,4124 and destroy6979 all3605 the children1121 of Sheth.8352

18 And Edom123 shall be a possession,3424 Seir8165 also shall be a possession3424 for his enemies;341 and Israel3478 shall do6213 valiantly.2428

19 Out of Jacob3290 shall come3381 he that shall have dominion,7287 and shall destroy6 him that remains8300 of the city.5892

20 And when he looked7200 on5921 Amalek,6002 he took5375 up his parable,4912 and said,559 Amalek6002 was the first7225 of the nations;1471 but his latter319 end shall be that he perish8 for ever.5703

21 And he looked7200 on5921 the Kenites,7017 and took5375 up his parable,4912 and said,559 Strong386 is your dwelling place,4186 and you put7760 your nest7064 in a rock.5553

22 Nevertheless3588 518 the Kenite7014 shall be wasted,1197 until5704 Asshur804 shall carry7617 you away captive.7617

23 And he took5375 up his parable,4912 and said,559 Alas,188 who4310 shall live2421 when God410 does7760 this!

24 And ships6716 shall come from the coast3027 of Chittim,3794 and shall afflict6031 Asshur,804 and shall afflict6031 Eber,5677 and he also1571 shall perish8 for ever.5703

25 And Balaam1109 rose6965 up, and went3212 and returned7725 to his place:4725 and Balak1111 also1571 went1980 his way.1870

9 He couched,3766 he lay7901 down7901 as a lion,738 and as a great3833 lion:3833 who4310 shall stir6965 him up? Blessed1288 is he that blesses1288 you, and cursed779 is he that curses779 you.

10 巴勒向巴蘭生氣，就拍起手來，對巴蘭說：「我召你來為我咒詛仇敵，不料，你這三次竟為他們祝福。

10 And Balak's1111 anger639 was kindled2734 against413 Balaam,1109 and he smote5606 his hands3709 together: and Balak1111 said559 to Balaam,1109 I called7121 you to curse6895 my enemies,341 and, behold,2009 you have altogether blessed1288 them these2088 three7969 times.

11 如今你快逃到［flee］本地去吧。我想使你得大尊榮，不料［lo］，耶和華卻阻止你不得尊榮。」

11 Therefore now6258 flee1272 you to your place:4725 I thought559 to promote3513 you to great honor;3513 but, see,2009 the LORD3068 has kept4513 you back4513 from honor.3519

12 巴蘭對巴勒說：「我豈不是對你所差遣到我那裏的使者說：

12 And Balaam1109 said559 to Balak,1111 Spoke1696 I not also1571 to your messengers4397 which834 you sent7971 to me, saying,559

13 『巴勒就是將他滿屋的金銀給我，我也不得越過耶和華的命，憑自己的心意行好行歹。耶和華說甚麼，我就要說甚麼？』」

13 If518 Balak1111 would give5414 me his house1004 full4393 of silver3701 and gold,2091 I cannot3808 3201 go5674 beyond5674 the commandment6310 of the LORD,3068 to do6213 either good2896 or176 bad7451 of my own mind;3820 but what834 the LORD3068 said,1696 that will I speak?1696

14 「看哪［behold］，現在我要回本族去。你來，我告訴你這民日後要怎樣待你的民。」

14 And now,6258 behold,2005 I go1980 to my people:5971 come3212 therefore, and I will advertise3289 you what834 this2088 people5971 shall do6213 to your people5971 in the latter319 days.3117

15 他就提起他的比喻［took up his parable］說：比珥的兒子巴蘭說：眼目睜開［open］的人說，

15 And he took5375 up his parable,4912 and said,559 Balaam1109 the son1121 of Beor1160 has said,5002 and the man1397 whose eyes5869 are open8365 has said:5002

16 得聽神的言語，明白至高者的意旨，看見全能者的異象，眼目睜開而魂遊象外［falling into a trance］的人說：

16 He has said,5002 which heard8085 the words561 of God,410 and knew3045 the knowledge1847 of the most6944 High,5945 which saw2372 the vision4236 of the Almighty,7706 falling5307 into a trance, but having his eyes5869 open:1540
